Rodriguez and Katy Yaroslavsky honored La Raza 97.9's Alberto "El Terrible" Cortez and food-bank organizer Fernando Matamoros for aiding families hit by immigration raids.

Ysabel Jurado led the city's Philippine Independence Day celebration with Controller Kenneth Mejia and the LA Filipino Association of City Employees. A final proclamation named June 27 "Play Day," recognizing the LA84 Foundation.
